NYC Recap: Trinidad James

James had a jam packed schedule during his brief visit in NYC. He kicked off the trip headlining at a concert at Santos. Almost every label had representation at the show, including big wigs like President of Def Jam Records Joie Manda, President of Black Music for the Atlantic Records Group Michael Kyser, Def Jam’s Sr. Vice President Shawn Pecas, Def Jam Senior Marketing VP Chris Atlas, and Chairman & CEO of The Island Def Jam Music Group and Universal Republic Records Barry Weiss were all there. During the set the entire A$AP Mob invaded the stage and A$AP Ferg performed "Work". James basically had a show and prove performance, which he came out on top.

During his next 36 hours he had gauntlet of interviews and stepped on stage in front of 5,000+ with Trey Songz. He visited Hot 97, Power 105, and MTV. Peep the videos.

Something Like a Homecoming: Trinidad James at MJQ

Nov 17: Jame$ has been making his way around the industry, basically meeting and interacting with a who's who cast of entertainers and moguls. During this time he hadn't had a show in Atlanta. Well, you can only imagine the buzz around his first performance in front of the home crowd since his ascension of fame. During his performance he brought out Go Dreamer, Cyhi the Prynce, Forte Bowie, and Doe B. It was pure mayhem, literally people on top of people to get a peep of the leader of the Gold Gang. This performance might have cemented James as a force to be reckoned with for a long time to come. It takes a special talent to perform hanging from the ceiling of a venue. I've posted three videos to portray an imagery of the chaotic scene.

8-Year Old Sam Gordon!

Sam Gordon...sounds like a tough guy right?! Well nah, not this time. This is a little 8 year old girl who happens to play tackle football. Check the video, she's amazing, literally. She might not even be human. Pay attention to her speed, vision, and form. She really is ahead of the curve, and that's why she's embarrassing all these little boys.






She might not be able to continue playing football as she gets older, but with her skill set she can easily transition to another sport. That's pure athleticism that embodies her. I wish her luck in her coming years. She doesn't need it though.

Feed The Homeless

Two weeks ago, the Fly Kix team decided to take it upon themselves to feed the homeless here in Atlanta.  With the help of Ming Lee and Laila Ali, we were able to gather up help from our peers and make it all happen. Make sure to help out whenever you can.  Most of this country's population is 2-3 paychecks away from the poorhouse themselves. Shout out to Decatur Slim for his time and help as well.

Well he executed a no look pass and then immediately walked up the court holding up 3 fingers.  Meanwhile Shane Battier spots up and drills the 3 from the assist he got from Lebron.  Why is this the almost most gangsta thing? Because Lebron did take a peek back eventually. If he never took the look back...smh, it would have been re-playable for the rest of time.

The good folks over at Complex brought these two extravagant people together. If you're familiar with Rocky's music you know that he is an avid wearer of Jeremy Scott's Adidas line. He loves it so much it seems it's mentioned in every other song. So imagine how it feels for a guy who only took rapping seriously as a career 7-8 months ago to meet one of his favorite fashion designers? I imagine it was a great feeling.
