ASAP ROCKY

I should have blogged about this guy over a month ago.
Here's the quick rundown.
If you let him tell it, he's that "pretty muthafucka" and Harlem
is what he's repping.  Here's the catch, he doesn't look
nor sound like he's from Harlem (kinda).
I think that's where he's winning tho.  He sounds like he's
from the Midwest and that's probably why I like his music.
Another catch, he doesn't have that much material released,
but yet his buzz is notable.

ASAP Rocky is continuing the trend of young, wild, reckless dudes
hitting the scene, living fast, absorbed in behavior that makes them slow
down, if you know what I mean.  Watch the Peso video below and
you'll see what I am talking about.

Look at video! He's like the recarnation of ??? I don't know who exactly but he reminds
me of several artists in one. He doesn't look like the typical Harlem kid but he does
exude the brash aura they are known for. You can't tell him he's not the freshest dude
on the block. I will say he does have his own
look and that will help him launch his career.
Limited edition sneakers, gold grills, herringbones,
little known streetwear tees, bandanas, Raf Simons, etc, etc...
Nothing new, but never put together in such a way.

Now to the music, It doesn't sound like NY hip hop, but look
at the energy in his performance. That's wild! If all his
performances are gonna be like this then his career will
be long lived. That looks like a great time. Take note to
the most reckless stage diving I've ever seen. They just
made the MGK show I went to a few weeks ago look like
generic crowd surfing.

Keep your eyes peeled for ASAP Rocky and the rest
of the ASAP crew.
